A Glimpse at the property
Ghillie’s Rest, set in 100 square kilometres of stunning Highland scenery, is a truly off the radar retreat in Scotland.
Tucked away on the twenty-three thousand acre Alladale Wilderness Reserve is the lovingly-designed stone cottage, Ghillie’s Rest. This luxury accommodation offers a tranquil space for couples or small groups to relax and unwind with stunning views of the remote scenery from every room.
This cottage has a cosy interior, with the living space boasting high ceilings and wooden beams contrasting with the painted white walls. Locally sourced wooden flooring with underfloor heating, that is supplied by their own hydroelectric turbine, is found throughout this property. An impressive deer antler chandelier hangs from the ceiling in the comfortable living room, that also boasts a wood burning stove.
Sleeping four guests, Ghillie’s Rest has two bedrooms, one double and one twin that face the Alladale River. Both rooms have Scottish themed furnishings, with tartan cushions and rugs that have been made locally. Upstairs provides a peaceful space for guests to relax, perhaps sitting in a cosy armchair reading a book with a blanket during a Scottish sunset.
Although there is WiFi and a TV provided with this property, there are plenty of activities to do whilst staying at Ghillie’s Rest. Whether that be hiking through Glen Alladale, a guided walk with the Wilderness Reserve rangers, deer stalking or clay pigeon shooting, there are plenty of activities that will make a guest’s trip to Ghillie’s Rest unforgettable.
