Baracija Estate

Originally a nineteenth-century Stanzia, Baracija started as a place for agriculture, evolving into a place for leisure. Today, the estate is completely renovated with every modern luxury in a historically respectful style. The main house and guest house can accommodate up to sixteen guests comfortably. The main house welcomes ten guests through four spacious and airy floors. The guest house offers additional privacy and peace, with a common living room, 3 bedrooms, terraces and a perfect view of nature. Adjacent to the main house is an outdoor summer kitchen featuring an open fireplace with asado grill, a massive communal table, and a terrace that will make socializing unforgettable.

The original house and its history have been carefully preserved during the renovation, using locally sourced wood and stone – the original materials that built a thousand years of Istrian history.

The owners created Baracija to be the most beautiful estate in Istria. At the same time, nothing in it is exaggerated, unnecessary or inconsistent.

Each painting on the walls carries its own story. Each sculpture lives in its own space and makes it richer. The nature around the estate is the backdrop for the white walls of Istrian stone framed by wooden windows. There is a density of colours and textures, inspired by abundance, simplicity, and the easiness of the “bijela zemlja” or white earth of Istria. Everything is there, in one place. But the greatest quality of Baracija is the sense of peace and tranquility it provides to its guests.
